About Mr.Selvaraj & Family
Mr.Selvaraj is from a christian family in Kanyakumari District, Tamilnadu State, India. He holds a doctorate in Agriculture Economics & Statistics. He was a professor
and head of the department of Fisheries Economics & Statistics at Fisheries College & Research Institute in Tuticorin, Tamilnadu State, India. His vision has led him
to Next Step Mission after his retirement. His mother was a music teacher and his father a school education inspector. He has two brothers and a sister. One of his
brothers is a medical doctor and the other a Professor & Reader of Social Work in a college. His sister is handicapped. Mrs. Chellam Selvaraj, wife and ministry
partner, supports the ministry through the most powerful tool Prayer. He has two children; a daughter and a son. His daughter is married and supports her
husband's ministries. His son, is married and working in the corporate sector in the USA. Mr and Mrs Selvaraj are currently living in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu State,
India.
About Next Step Mission
Mr.Selvaraj was involved in Christian spirituality and in literature and fine arts appreciation until 1985. From then on college students were attending weekly prayer
meetings at his residence in Tuticorin, Tamilnadu State, India. He began to preach the Word of God in prayer meetings, in small groups and in churches of various
affiliations. Bible study is a better expression because he has a passion to provide Biblical counseling to his audience. He likes experimenting with different methods
of Bible study and applied hermeneutics is often his favorite. His first and unplanned participation in a vigil prayer especially when he was inexplicably weak brought
about a major and rapid transformation in his life and in his family and the result is the whole family is now serving the Lord in one way or the other with passion
for God and compassion for people. Psalm 24 says "the earth belongs to the Lord and we are only stewards". This wisdom alone can bring peace to this world.
This mission has come into being step-by-step and so aptly suggests a step-by-step change in your life. If you would like to be a part of or support the mission
